Learn about hill country plants that are adapted to survive rugged conditions & have also helped humans survive throughout time. Distance and difficulty: The walking distance will be 1.2 miles (Merrick Mile Trail). The trail includes some rocky, uneven surfaces. What to bring: Bring your own sun protection & drinking water to carry with you. Please dress for the weather and wear shoes that are comfortable for hiking. Where to Meet: In the Bar-O day use area, near the HQ building Note: In the event of inclement weather, the hike may be moved to the park roadways or cancelled.
