Earn a junior ranger badge while learning about history, wildlife, and safety. Each participant will get a junior ranger activity journal to write in and take home. A ranger will help guide participants through the journal before, during, and after a 1.2 mile hike. The hike does include some rocky/uneven walking surfaces. Who: Recommended for ages 6-12 years. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Where: We will meet up in the Bar-O day use area (near the HQ building) before going on a 1.2 mile hike on Merrick Mile Trail. We will end up back in the Bar-O day use area where we started. Cost: Program is free with park admission. Day use reservations can be made online or by calling (512) 389-8900. Reminder: Please dress for the weather, wear comfortable shoes for hiking, and bring/drink plenty of water.
